But the environment in which we operate has changed drastically in recent years \u2013 and certainly not for the better.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<h2>The Challenge of the MDR<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>The introduction of the <strong>Medical Device Regulation (MDR)<\/strong> has become a major burden, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. We feel this pressure every single day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>The requirements are extremely high \u2013 <strong>from extensive documentation and complex certifications to regular audits.<\/strong> For a company of our size, this doesn\u2019t only mean a lot of extra work, but also <strong>significant costs<\/strong>. Money we would much rather invest in research, development, and product improvements is instead tied up in bureaucracy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>On top of that, the MDR consumes our <strong>human resources<\/strong>. Team members who could otherwise dedicate their time to projects, product development, or customer support now need to handle regulatory tasks. For a small team like ours, this is a huge challenge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<h2>Price Pressure in german Hospitals \u2013 Especially for Single-Use Instruments<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>At the same time, we see the struggles german hospitals are facing:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>Many facilities are under financial stress, dealing with <strong>budget cuts, staff shortages, and rising operating costs<\/strong>. These conditions \u2013 shaped by political decisions and economic constraints \u2013 put hospitals under increasing pressure, and in turn, affect their partners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>We notice this most clearly with our <strong>Clinastar single-use instruments<\/strong>. Hospitals are often forced to decide based primarily on the lowest price. Understandably so, when budgets are tight \u2013 but this makes it difficult to truly recognize the value of <strong>quality, reliability, and patient safety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>We know our customers are dealing with the same challenges as we are. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so important to us to find solutions together that<strong> are both economically viable and put safety in the OR first.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<h2>A Big Market \u2013 Yet Difficult<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p><strong>Germany<\/strong> is one of the <strong>largest and most important MedTech markets<\/strong> in Europe. In theory, this should provide a stable foundation for growth and innovation. But the combination of <strong>MDR-related costs<\/strong>,<strong> price pressure \u2013 especially in the single-use segment \u2013 and global economic uncertainty makes it increasingly difficult<\/strong> for smaller companies to unlock their potential here.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<h2>Economy in Crisis Mode<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>On top of that, recent global crises have made things worse:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<ul><li>Supply chain disruptions<\/li><li>Rising energy prices<\/li><li>Inflation<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>All of these developments hit us directly. While we are doing everything we can to ensure the<strong> availability of our products,<\/strong> the overall economic situation in Germany is far from stable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<h2>Our Commitment Despite All Obstacles<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>As Floris and Andreas highlighted in our recent interview:<br><strong>Despite all these challenges, we want to keep developing solutions that deliver true value to our customers<\/strong> and increase patient safety.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>Even in difficult times, we strongly believe that <strong>innovation, quality, and customer focus<\/strong> are the keys to success for small companies like ours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p><strong>We are convinced:<\/strong><br>It takes courage, perseverance, and a clear vision \u2013 and that\u2019s exactly what drives us at Entrhal every single day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container mx-auto\">\n<p>And because we don\u2019t want to tell this story from our perspective alone, we will soon launch <strong>MedTech Insights \u2013 Voices from Around the World<\/strong>.
