CONTEG Professional – Minimizing Risks, Maximizing Safety

Since 2015, we at Entrhal have been developing, manufacturing, and distributing innovative testing devices for CSSD (Central Sterile Services Departments). Our mission is to make daily work easier for staff while ensuring the highest level of patient safety.

Why the Sealing of Sterile Containers Is So Important

Sterile containers are a crucial part of the reprocessing chain: they protect reprocessed instruments after sterilization and ensure they remain sterile until used on the patient.

However, the critical sterile barrier – the connection between lid and base – can be compromised by damage, deformation, perforations, or loose closures. If not detected, there is a risk that instruments lose their sterility during transport or storage – a serious risk for patient safety.

A purely visual inspection of this connection can be challenging in a busy working environment and is not always reproducible at the same quality level.

The Solution: Our Container Testing Device – CONTEG Professional

With the CONTEG Professional, we provide a safe, fast, and process-integrated solution.
The test is performed immediately after packaging and before the container is finally sealed.
The workflow remains undisturbed, and defects are detected at an early stage.

How CONTEG Works – Simple, Fast, and Reliable

After filling the container, the appropriate lid is placed on top. Then, the specially designed silicone sealing caps of the CONTEG device are positioned on the filter openings.

With just one press of a button, the test begins:

  1. Vacuum generation – CONTEG creates a defined, slight vacuum inside the container.
  2. Stabilization – The pressure is briefly maintained to ensure accurate measurement.
  3. Measurement & evaluation – The device precisely monitors whether air enters the container through any leakage and calculates the resulting pressure drop.
  4. Automatic comparison – The measured values are instantly compared with the predefined tolerance limits.
  5. Clear result display – The screen shows unmistakably:
    1. OK (green) – Container is leak-tight and ready for sealing
    1. NIO (red) – Leakage detected, container must be rechecked or repaired

This fully automated test takes just a few seconds and can be seamlessly integrated into the packaging process – with no additional workload.

Your Benefits with CONTEG Professional

  • Early detection of defective or damaged containers
  • Reliable, reproducible testing independent of human judgment
  • Time savings and workload reduction through an automated, fast testing process
  • Seamless integration into existing CSSD workflows
  • Enhanced patient safety

Conclusion

With CONTEG Professional, you eliminate uncertainties in container testing, reduce human error, and ensure that only verified, intact containers proceed in the workflow. This not only significantly increases patient safety but also improves efficiency in CSSD operations. Staff are relieved, testing becomes reproducible, and potential risks are identified and corrected at an early stage.
